Prof. Dr. Aynur Eren Topkaya received her Doctor of Medicine degree from Istanbul University Istanbul Faculty of Medicine in 1988. She completed her residency training at Marmara University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Microbiology and Clinical Microbiology in 1998. She spent part of her residency period at the WHO Clinical Microbiology Streptococcus Reference Laboratory at the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, USA. She worked as a specialist at Haydarpaşa Numune Training and Research Hospital and Maltepe University. In 2008, she worked at Maltepe University and Namık Kemal University as Associate Professor and in 2014 as Professor, respectively. Since 2018, she has been working at Yeditepe University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Medical Microbiology. During this period, she served as the Head of the Department for a period. She is a member of scientific organizations such as the Clinical Microbiology Specialty Association (Founding Board Member), Turkish Microbiology Society, ANKEM Association, Parasitology Association of Türkiye, and European Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases.
